Perfume

Perfumes are fragrant liquids or semi solid wax bars typically made from essential oils extracted from flowers and spices, used to impart a pleasant smell to one’s body or clothes.

The word Perfumery, from the later words “per fumus” meaning through smoke, refers to the art of making perfumes. Perfume was further refined by the Romans, the Persians and the Arabs. Although perfume and perfumery also existed in East Asia, much of its fragrances were incense based.
